Children’s Ministry

Sunday school

At Spring Meadows Presbyterian Church, we believe that the promise of the Gospel is for us and for our children (Acts 2:39). We take the religious education of our children seriously, cooperating with parents to raise our covenant children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

The main way we do this is in Sunday School class, every Sunday at 9:30 AM. We offer classes for the following ages: Pre-kindergarten, kindergarten to 2nd grade, and 3rd to 5th grade.

SMPC Children’s Ministry is pleased to offer a nursery for children ages 0–2 during the Sunday School hour (9:30–10:15 AM) and Worship Service (10:30–12:00).

Children’s Ministry is overseen by Elder Dan Phillips. For more information about our Children’s Ministry, please contact Dan Phillips.

Vacation Bible School

Sound the Trumpets! The King is Coming!

This summer, July 23 to 26 from 5:00–8:00 PM, we will be hosting Vacation Bible School! This year, our theme is The King is Coming — we will explore how Jesus’s first and second coming fulfill promises made in the Old Testament. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children of SMPC to have fun playing games, making crafts, and learning songs, but more importantly, for them to learn the beauty of Christ and His Gospel.

Register for VBS 2024 by filing out a physical form, which you can find in the back of the sanctuary. For more information, or if you have any questions, contact elder Dan Phillips.

Communicant class

Our hope is for all our covenant children to grow in maturity and in understanding of Christ their Savior. When a covenant child is ready to publicly confess faith in Jesus for their salvation, they become communing members of Spring Meadows Presbyterian Church, with all the rights and privileges of any other member. This particularly means that they are welcomed to the Lord’s Table, for the nourishment of their faith.

In order to help our covenant children make this step, we periodically hold Communicant Classes. These classes are designed to help equip children to profess their faith and to understand the importance of the Lord’s Supper and how to worthily partake of it. After the class, if a covenant child is ready to profess their faith and partake of the Supper, they will be interviewed by some of our elders. For more information, please contact Elder Ed Kelley.
